Fire + work station

A project of a new fire station in Lewes, East Sussex, England. The task was not only to create a common fire station, but also to add some community based "plus" program. Lewes is the home of the biggest and most famous bonfire night in England, so why not to create a fire station with a showroom of fireworks??
The strategy was driven mainly by the fact that the lot was in an flooding area and the station was needed to be able to work even while flooded. Therefore the initial fire station was held upstairs with its bays and yard on the roof and the firework showroom was downstairs, where it can use a natural darkness.
